“In a city where homes are already decorated with trim and ironwork and where houses are painted the thick colors of ice cream, Mardi Gras decorations often appear like a natural extension of our architecture.”
Click the Mardi Gras bead wreath to read more about how New Orleans goes all out for Carnival with magnificent decorations!  gonola:

fracturedporcelainphotography asked: Hi there. My name's Melissa and I was just hoping you could check out and possibly like my photography fan page on Facebook. I could really use the support. The link is on my Tumblr (You can't include links in questions or I would. My apologies). Thank you so much for your time. :)

Consider it done. If you could return the favor, that would be swell! http://www.facebook.com/OrleansPhotographie

Old Chackbay Church Revisited…
Five years ago, I happened upon this place. Beautifully decrepit, abandoned, haunting.
Some time early last year or the end of the previous year it finally gave up and fell. I noticed it last year while driving through & saw the steeple at a neighboring house.
A friend recently mentioned that I should take a photo to complete the series of them in its varying states.
This is the end result. They start from top left and go to the right ending at the bottom which is its current state.
Hardly recognizable especially with the looted steeple nowhere to be found. Old Chackbay Church Revisited…
